Paternity Experts' uses a noninvasive, pain-free DNA identification collection method for DNA parentage analysis screening. No blood test or painful pin pricks required. We need DNA in order to perform the test, we like to use the most easily accessible and readily available DNA, cheek cells from the inside of the mouth. Swabs are used to obtain DNA identification material for paternity DNA testing. The cells lining the inside of the cheek, called "buccal cells," can be painlessly rubbed off onto a foam tipped swab, and kept intact for long periods of time. The DNA identification material is then extracted from these cells and used for parentage identification testing.

We have selected to use the 16 allele Identifiler™ kit (Applied Biosytems) to analyze your DNA sample.  The 16 alleles from this DNA test kit exceeds the requirements of several standardization bodies throughout the world including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Thirteen out of the 16 alleles are approved by the FBI and are the alleles that are currently being used in their DNA typing database called the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS). The DNA typing is performed with the polymerize chain reaction (PCR) to amplify short tandem repeat (STR). STR is the most accurate, rapid and cost effective means of DNA parentage analysis. The STR typing method is the standard DNA identification tool used in forensics DNA testing. STR is a proven technology that is accepted in the lab and the courtroom.
